Mary Walter and I birded the Ohio river from the Falls of the Ohio to
Hazes-Kennedy park stopping at several points. Only DC Cormorants were found
at the Falls and waterfowl were generally absent along the river. We were
rewarded, however, with a Peregrine Falcon on and around the Big 4 bridge
and a subadult Bald Eagle near the head of 6 mile island. Other birds of
interest were 3 Blue-winged Teal at Capperton and a Rusty Blackbird along
with a nice view of a Red-shouldered Hawk at Hazes-Kennedy.
