[birdky] Y. B. Loon still present

The Yellow-billed Loon is still present this afternoon on KY lake. I followed
the directions given by several birders and easily found the Loon. It was out
several hundred yards southeast of where Rt. 962 ends. I walked up the wooded
hill to the south and had great looks in the scope. The bird was in the
company of three Common Loons. It didn't dive once in the hour I was there
(between
4-5 PM). The water was like glass and with the low sun the view was great. I
just wish the bird had come closer to shore for a photo.
Further south towards the 68 bridge upwards of a hundred White Pelicans were
seen. Five flew past the Loon at one point.
I looked for the gulls at the dam without a lot of luck. I did get some
excellent photos of an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull, 30 feet away on the
rocks at
the boat ramp below the dam on the west side of the river. good luck to those
visiting this weekend!
