KY birders:
For any interested, I have started a new gallery on my site for birds
photographed in TN. Bear with me, as I'm still working on the format I
want to use. I will continue to add sections to this as I have time.
The "TN Birds" gallery will contain subgalleries for different families
and groups of birds. I have worked up one for "Loons and Grebes" and
"Raptors". In the Loons and Grebes gallery I have posted some poor shots
of the Yellow-billed Loon, as well as some of Pacific Loon from over the
weekend. These do help to give a good idea of what you're looking for on
the birds. Also currently there is a section for Common Loon and
Red-necked Grebe, Horned, Eared, and Pied-billed Grebe. I had some nice
shots of Western but they were lost when my last camera was stolen. :'(
Some of these photos are useful only from an ID standpoint. When you
click
on the thumbnail for each species it will take you to a gallery
containing
thumbnail photos of just that species. Clicking on these thumbnails
should take
you to the original image.
In the Raptors section I currently only have a gallery for the Merlin
that Jeff spotted Sunday. I have placed several decent shots
of this bird here.
Regarding the Yellow-billed Loon, it truly is an impressive bird, and I
hate to say it, but having seen both Jeff's and the Atlanta bird, Jeff's
bird comes out a little ahead in the "Oh, MY GOD!" category!

(I welcome any comments/suggestions on the new format on my website)
Good birding!!
