[birdky] Tree Swallow

This morning a Tree Swallow was sitting on the power line preening near where
Tree Swallows have nested here for the past 2 years.
The Barn Swallows will be sad when they get back in town. I always know "my"
Barn Swallows have arrived when I see a pair perched on the phone line which
runs from the house to a pole across the road. This week a 4 wheel drive
tractor with dual wheels front and back passed just after dark pulling an
anhydrous ammonia applicator. The folded up boom of the anhydrous applicator
snagged the phone line, snapped the pole like a twig and kept on going. Right
now the phone line is lying on the ground but the phone people are going to
bury it next week. Now where are my Barn Swallows going to sit to do their
preening?
