Melissa,

I'm replying a second time to your message. Friend Wavy did climb
the long Al extension ladder.No bird there at the time. My thinking was that 
the Screech Owl was either roosting or contemplating nesting.
I've decided it may have been the later judging from the contents of the 
nest. On top of a layer of excrement left over from last years
nesting Kestrels was a pile of dead leaves.Also in the box was an overripe 
meadow vole.We cleaned everything out and will wait and see
if the box is reclaimed.
I'm going to put up a Screech Owl box on a shorter pole close to the
wooded area along the creek in the lower part of the yard.Joyce Porter
