Kathy Cohen and I watched two graceful immature TUNDRA SWANS feeding,
sleeping and leisurely enjoying their visit to theBlood River mud flats this
afternoon. While we enjoyed the early evening 6 SANDHILL CRANES flew over.
After a bit of back and forth they decided to spend the night and we were
thrilled to watch them parachute down in front of us.
A Brown creeper, Yellow-rumped warblers, Hooded Mergansers, Gadwall,
Kingfisher, Pileated Woodpecker and three species of gulls were also seen.
On my ride back to town an American Woodcock flew up next to me. What a
great day!
