Without intentionally looking, I have seen three bad cases (nearly blind in at 
least one eye) of infections in house finches. All three house finches were 
feeding at covered mixed seed feeders (as opposed to finch feeders). I think 
this was, inpart, due to their inability to see well. One looked like he wasn't 
going to make it. 
 
I haven't noticed it among the goldfinches, though those feeders are farther 
from my view.

            I have had as many as ten out of my multitudes of house finches 
with the disease. I have only seen two goldfinches with it. The house finches 
are really sick and pitiful.
