The cold weather is certainly bringing in the birds!! Today at the Spindletop
lake in north Lexington there were;
4 northern pintail (behaving as 2 pairs)
10 canvasback (a lifer for me)
5 bufflehead (inc 2 gorgeous males)
5 green-winged teal
30 redhead
30 ring-necks
10 gadwall
2 mute swans (been there a while now)
3 white-crowned sparrows (the only ones I have seen this winter)
Also, yesterday I saw an Eastern towhee and fox sparrow at my feeders - the
first ones this winter. Great birds, both of them.
Cheers
Ian
