Next weekend is the Great Backyard Bird Count.  Last year, KY birders reported 
130 species and submitted 1,349 bird checklists during the four days of the 
count.  How many species and checklists can you come up with this year?  The 
more reports we get, the better snapshot we can get of the bird populations 
across the state.

So plan to count the birds in your yard each day during the count, and submit 
separate counts for each day, and for each count you do at your local park or 
birding hotspot as well.  Each time you submit a count, you are entered to win 
one of the hundreds of prizes we are giving away.  So submit counts early, and 
often!

Count the birds each day next weekend (Friday-Monday) and enter your counts 
online at http://birdcount.org<http://birdcount.org/>.  While you are on the 
GBBC website, check out the new features including new kids games and our 
official GBBC blog (http://www.birdsource.org/gbbc/blog).  Lots of fun for the 
whole extended family.

But the most fun is counting the birds.  So get your friends, neighbors, and
