[birdky] Sandhill Cranes

While enjoying the mild weather out in the backyard, I noticed 3 Ring-necked
Ducks had joined the 8 Hooded Mergansers wintering on the lake out back.
Still wonder where they went when the lake froze over. A flock of Canada
Geese
were keeping them company as was a Kingfisher. When what to my wandering
ears should appear but the sounds of 75 Sandhills far above, flying north over
Prospect at 5:30 PM today Feb 8 headed for Indiana. Can spring be far behind?
