[birdky] RPT: Misc Lou area sightings, 2/14/2007

I had to visit the University of Louisville today, so I checked a few spots
around the local area. The river is coming up from the early-week rain.
Highlights were a female/imm. White-winged Scoter on the Indiana side of the
river between the I-65 (Kennedy) bridge and the Big-4 bridge. There were also
15-20 Common Goldeneyes and 15-20 Canvasbacks, a Greater Scaup, 5 Redheads, and
various more-common waterfowl from above the Falls to just above
Jeffersonville, IN. At the Falls of the Ohio, the only thing I saw besides the
local pair of Peregrine Falcons (visiting for a drink) was a lone Ring-billed
Gull.
The only indication of the heavy snow to our north that I could find was an
American Tree Sparrow in a bush with some House Sparrows right on the
Jeffersonville watefront! It sure seemed out of place.
