Thanks to Bob Domagalski with the assistance of contacts in
"mid-continent" states and provinces (non-coastal), an unpublished
summary of vagrant birds in the middle of the continent was circulated
in January 2003. This summary includes the following reports of vagrant
orioles:
Hooded Oriole -- 1 record in ON in May 1992
Streak-backed Oriole -- 1 record in WI in Jan 1998
Bullock's Oriole -- 17 reports from scattered states mostly in fall and
winter
Scott's Oriole -- 7 reports as follows: late May to mid-June 1974 in MN;
June 1975 in NE; Nov 1975 in ON; April 1977 in KS; late Nov 1995 to Feb
1996 in WI; Jan to Feb 2000 in IL; and April 2002 in MN.
I have not reviewed more recent issues of North American Birds to fill
in the recent records and this does not include east-coast states.
However, it provides a decent reference to put the winter 2006-2007
birds in KY-IN into perspective.
I have no idea if all of these were accepted by state records committees
or if unnatural origin was demonstrated for any. I have several times
been glad that Bob put this summary together and this is yet another :o)
