Rhonda and I went hiking in the Pioneer Weapons WMA on Saturday. We
flushed a Ruffed Grouse and an American Woodcock. I also noticed that
there seemed to be an unusual number of dead oak trees, standing and
fallen, and a lot of woodpeckers because of it. All year round resident
woodpeckers were seen in multiples; no sapsuckers.
