The release date for the block of lodge rooms and cottages for the spring
KOS meeting is Tuesday, 28 February.  You have less than 1 week to make the
reservation.  Remember this is a small lodge.  The entire lodge is currently
set aside.  Please do not delay.  The rate for a single room is $79 plus
tax.
 
The meeting is scheduled for Friday 28 April - Sunday, 30 April.  Friday's
featured speaker is Daniel Moss, the biologist who recently confirmed the
presence of breeding Bachman's Sparrows in the Fort Campbell military
reservation.  We will be speaking on that species and other grassland birds
of the area.  Saturday evening' program will be presented by Doug Stotz,
Ornithologists for world renowned Chicago Field Museum of Natural History.
Mr. Stotz will be discussing the dynamics of Lake Michigan, prevailing
winds, that make Chicago a significant and unique migrant corridor and also
the impact that city has on this migratory corridor.
 
Field trips will be held as always on Saturday morning and Sunday morning.
 
Again, make your reservations as soon as possible.  See you there.
