Hi folks, I'm new to the latsserve and to Kentucky so am really enjoying
all of your postings of bird sightings around the state. I look forward to
getting out on some trips with with the KOS especially around the western
part of the state. I hope that we can begin to add more bird activities to
our programs here at Audubon State Park.
I was in touch with Gary Ritchison and he oked the posting of the following
positions at the Audubon State Park.

Seasonal Assistant Naturalist
Do you enjoy working with people?
Do you have an interest in Nature?
Can you lead a group of 15-30 people?
John James Audubon State Park is looking for you!
Responsibilities
Assistant Naturalists assume a diversity of responsibilities at John James
Audubon State Park including: caring for live program animals; developing
environmental education and campground programs; public presentations;
guided hikes; community outreach; inspection and maintenance of trails and
playgrounds. Opportunities exist for special projects in flora/fauna
inventory; interpretation; outdoor recreation; and visitor studies.
75% of the time is devoted towards providing fun and educational nature and
recreational programming for school children, campers, and other park
guests. Assistant Naturalists will work at least one weekend day per week.
Full time Seasonal Naturalists earn $7.09/hour.
Qualifications
Self-starters with excellent communication skills should have an interest in
working with the public and as part of a recreational programming team.
Applicants must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
First Aid and CPR training is preferred.
When
April 1, 2006 - October 31, 2006 (1 position available)
May 1, 2006 - September 4, 2006 (1 position available)
Start dates and end dates are somewhat flexible.
