[birdky] Sloughs area and western Henderson Co.

Sunday was a good day for birding. Started out 28 degrees but
temperature rose nicely.
Sunday, 2/22/04, I did Sauerheber from the road, walked the Highland
Creek Unit, drove Grassy Pond Unit.
Low-light: I've seen no Tundra Swans for about 3 weeks.
High-light: Wilson's Snipe near Grassy Pond
Pied-billed grebe
Great blue heron
White-fronted goose
Canada goose
Snow goose (both white & blue phases; about 100 high overhead)
Mallard
Black duck
Pintail
Green-winged Teal
Am. Widgeon
Shoveler
Wood duck (5 pairs)
Red Head (4 pairs)
Red tailed Hawk
Red shouldered hawk
Bald Eagle (both adult & imm)
Sparrow hawk
Am. Coot
