I hope others can see this intriguing bird over the weekend, and find a
bonus bird while looking! I'll gladly have any of my shots that are
needed included in any discussion page. I look forward to seeing Dave's
stills of the bird in flight, to refresh my memory, and see how my
recollection jives with the shots. Regarding Dave's comment about
researching these birds, their is no shortage of Thayer's shots on the
web, but kumlieni and Iceland in general are a little harder to come by.
The Advanced Video Series tape on Large Gulls is a great resource, and
although it's been recalled, the new Gulls of North America, Europe, and
Asia has great coverage on these birds. I think that the North American
section was largely spared the editorial/publishing goofs that caused
the recall of this book.
Good birding!!
