Went down to check out the pine stand at the former roadside rest at KY 338
and US 42/127. Turned out to be a literal rather than a figurative "wild-goose
chase". An exquisitely plumaged adult blue morph Snow Goose in with 100 Canada
Geese by the edge of the farm pond next to the cemetery. Also 12 Mallards.
There were some tightly rolled owl pellets of undetermined species (but not
great-horned) under some of the pines.
