A first winter Little Gull was gracefully picking the water for food at KY 
Dam this afternoon.  I observed the bird in flight from the point at the KY Dam 
beach area.  The bird was actively feeding among Bonaparte's gulls.  I watched 
it for 45 minutes before going to the car for a camera.  I never relocated 
the bird upon returning for a picture.  I'm sure it is still around but the 
light was going and the gulls were starting to go to roost. 
For years I've searched the hordes of Bonaparte's for a Little Gull.  Today I 
was rewarded with the sweetest little Valentine!
