Tom Durbin and I spent the afternoon in the vicinity
of Barkley and Kentucky Dams, recording 7 species of
gulls.  Highlights are as follows:

Great Black-backed Gull   1st yr. below Ky Dam  photos

Lesser Black-backed Gull  Adult below Ky Dam

Glaucous Gull  2 first yr. birds at Ky Dam

Thayer's Gull  3 Adults  Barkley/Ky/Calvert City

There are a lot of gulls at the dams now with a good
turnover of birds feeding and resting below Ky Dam.

We also encountered a couple of Kentucky birders who
will post a report on the details of their sightings.
