We too noticed some flocks of Sandhills flying over our farm in Edmonson county
yesterday. First flock went over around 10 AM. Started calling and circling,
waiting for other flocks to catch up and join up. Finally headed north with
about 180 birds in the flock. Then early afternoon we heard a lot of calling.
One large flock started wheeling above the farm and we could see 3 more V's
approaching. It took a lot of wheeling and maneuvering before they decided
which group was going to lead, and finally left in to overlapping V's, with
about 150 to 175 birds in two main V's, with and additional 50 birds in smaller
groups around them.
Our farm is located just off I-65, between Park City and Rocky Hill.
