Wednesday 2-5-2003
I nearly quit functioning when the temperatures drop below 60 degrees so I
had to force myself out to look for birds today. My first stop was at
Western Ky. University woods on Bennett Ln. The best birds I observed there
were 10 Fox Sparrows (eight in one flock) and a pair of Winter Wrens. One
Hermit Thrush was also seen. Overall the woods were quiet.
My next stop was at Basil Griffin park to check for waterfowl. Sighted among
the home-standing ducks and geese of questionable backgrounds, were 3 drake
Ring-necked Ducks and a drake Redhead.
