[birdky] Kentucky Bird Sightings Reviewers needed for the Great Backyard Bird Count

The Great Backyard Bird Count (www.birdsource.org/gbbc
<http://www.birdsource.org/gbbc> ) is coming February 17-20, 2006 and we
are looking for regional editors to help us review bird sightings
submitted from Kentucky during the count. If you would be interested in
helping ensure the validity of unusual records (and get the first
opportunity to know about any rare birds that show up during the
count!), let us know.
It usually takes at most a couple of hours a day during the count to
check and review unusual records online, and to email submitters to
request additional information if needed. It's a great chance to get a
behind-the-scenes look at how a large citizen science program works, and
to be part of a great team of reviewers around the country that will
have their finger on the pulse of the continent's bird populations over
the course of the President's Day Weekend. If you are interested in
volunteering as a regional reviewer, please send me an email off list at
rfergus AT Audubon.org. Thanks,
Rob Fergus
