[birdky] Meldahl Dam Peregrine, Rough-legged Hawk

I got some great looks at the Peregrine Falcon (a brownish immature) that
others have been seeing at and around Meldahl Dam. It did a number of circles
chasing pigeons in and out of the dam structure, before finally settling down
in
one of the "cubbyholes" near the top of the dam (I really need a glossary of
dam structural terminology!) where it could be seen from along the shore just
upriver. Also at the dam were 3 Lesser Scaup,4 Mallards, 5 Pied-billed Grebes,
60 Ring-billed Gulls and 4 Black Vultures. On the way back I observed a
Rough-legged Hawk at AA Hwy and KY 154 (Pendleton Co.) and 600 Canada Geese at
A.J.
Jolly (Campbell Co.). Also, the Black Scoter was still present on the
Covington side (Kenton Co.)this morning.
