[birdky] RPT: A few hummers continue

This year has become the "best" ever for Selasphoru hummers in Kentucky. No
less than 11 birds (and probably 12) have been reported. All but three have
disappeared; with weather that has not been too cold for them, it is hoped
that most have departed for warmer climes, something that has apparently
been shown by banding returns from Bob Sargent's Hummingbird Study Group's
efforts. All of these birds showed up between mid-August and mid-October:
Boone Co., imm/female -- last observed in mid-December
Bullitt Co., Mt. Washington -- adult male Rufous -- continues as of today
(this adult male has not been checked for bands but is about 9.5 air miles
southeast of last years IMMATURE male in southern Jefferson County . . .
hmmmmm)
Fayette Co., Lexington -- continues as of yesterday
Grayson Co., Nolin Lake -- last observed in mid-December
Jefferson Co., Seatonville -- imm/female -- last observed 11 January 2004
Logan Co., Russellville -- immature female Rufous -- last observed 12
December 2003
Madison Co., Berea -- imm/female -- last observed 16 January 2004
Oldham Co., Crestwood -- imm/female -- last observed 25 December 2003
Warren Co., N of Rich Pond -- adult female Rufous -- continues as of today
Warren Co., Rich Pond -- adult female Rufous -- last observed 6 January 2004
Warren Co., Bowling Green -- adult male Rufous -- last observed sometime in
mid-November
Warren Co., Plano -- "brownish" hummer observed in mid-October
