- From: Charles Crawford <ccrawford@xxxxxxxxxx>

- Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2004 15:54:29 -0600
I checked out Pee Wee Lake at dawn (1/19)
Gulls
Pied Billed Grebe (many)
Great blue heron
Canada Geese
Ringed necked ducks
Canvasback (1 pr)
Mallards
Bufflehead
Ruddy Duck (many)
Am. Coots
and on the far side some Swans - I don't know if they were Mute or
Tundras
Next I drove through the Sloughs (1/19) after the frontal passage of
last night. Most of what was open water yesterday was frozen today.
I checked on the Tundra Swans twice: about 8:30 and again 11:30. I
could not find them anywhere. Many fewer ducks and geese than yesterday.
Canada Geese many but numbers down from 1/18
Snow Geese both White and Blue
White-fronted Geese (I counted about 50 in one flock)
Mallards but numbers down
Black Duck
Am. Widgeon
Shoveler
Ringed necked Duck
Hooded Merganser
Charlie Crawford
Henderson Co.
