Chris Sloan passed along info on another Rufous Hummingbird (#10 for
2003-04) over the weekend and I went by to see it yesterday afternoon.  This
one is an adult male that is coming to a feeder at Mount Washington, Bullitt
County. The host, Ms. Phyllis Linton, is happy to have visitors but because
of her work schedule, it will have to be a weekend day for her to
accommodate visitors. For those interested in seeing the bird, I would
suggest taking a shot on Saturday and I'll post directions here so you won't
have to bother Ms. Linton with getting them, although she would like a call
if you are going to come (502/538-7229). It would be more photogenic, but it
is currently missing ALL ten tail feathers!

Directions:  Ky DeLorme gazetteer page 35, block G-8. From US 31E and KY 44
in Mt. Washington, go west towards Sheperdsville. Just out of town and
across from Houchins Food Store on north side of KY 44, turn left (south)
onto Stringer Road. Stringer goes through several 90 degree turns both left
and right over the next mile or so. When you see Southgate Manor ahead,
continue left through the 90 degree turn on Stringer, and around next 90
degree turn back to right, then look for Sandra Drive on the right. The
Linton's home is 166 (no box, but number on the house); it was about the
third or so on the right. 


Also, on post regarding the Muhlenberg County Spotted Towhee, I failed to
note for those unfamiliar with the general area that the spot is on the
DeLorme gazetteer page 63, block C-6 (road is called Rockport Spur there).
Rockport Paradise Road goes off (south) of US 62, just west of the US 62
bridge over the Green River.
