[birdky] BKY: Somerset CBC

Somerset's 7th CBC took place on New Year's Day with 15 field observers out and
counting. I don't have feederwatcher data in, yet, the present species total is
74. Some highlights of the count were Redhead, Common Goldeneye, Loggerhead
Shrike, House Wren, Chipping Sparrow and Rusty Blackbird. I haven't gone over
the numbers, but one thing that stood out was Red-headed Woodpeckers. We
usually have to make an effort to get 1 or 2 this year we found 17.
Another highlight of the count was that instead of the forecasted "rain all
day", we didn't get much more than an occasional drizzle. Thanks to all the
participants for the great effort, nearly everyone birded from first light to
last and several put in some owling time!
