Paul,
The Sun's R.A. and Dec. last night were about 16h45m, -22d20'. Since the
Gegenschein is 180 degrees away from that point, it was at 4h45m, +22d20'.
That places it a few degrees north of NGC 1647. It should have been easily
visible from a site such as Hovatter.
