[AZ-Observing] Observing C/2002 X5 (Kudo-Fujikawa) at Its Brightest

Since this comet will really only be bright when it passes within a couple
tenths of an astronomical unit of the sun, a good way to view it is on the
SOHO spacecraft images of the solar corona. The comet will be within 2
degrees of the sun on January 27, and be plenty bright. It will be in the
wide field "LASCO C3" frame for a week around that time. The images of
interest are the two in the lower right corner at:
http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/data/realtime-images.html
If you have a high-speed connection, MPEG movies of the corona (and passing
comet) are available at:
http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/data/realtime/mpeg/
I think 100 or so comets were discovered in 2001 alone by amateurs
inspecting SOHO images, so this one should be really spectacular as it
crosses the frame.
