Thanks for the tip Thad.
I just looked at SkyMapPro9 and it shows that Io begins to occult (just
touches) Calisto at 6:03am on the morning of 12/7, just as you said. It
looks like the greatest coverage occurs at 6:12am. Io is smaller than
Calisto so I suppose there will only be a partial reduction in total light
from the pair but it should be neat just the same. Also the GRS will be in
view during this event.
I will definitely be watching.
