Directions to the "Dirt Boulevard" observing site

Drive west on I-10 and turn south (left) at Palo Verde Road, exit 109. =
If
you turn north you would be on the Sun Valley Parkway. After going over =
the
freeway you will travel south for 3.3 miles to a stop sign at Southern =
Ave.,
go straight. At 4.4 miles south of I-10 is a stop sign at Baseline =
road.
Turn left and then immediately turn right. So, Palo Verde road make a =
small
jog, left then right. At 6.5 miles south of the freeway is the Palo =
Verde
Elementary School on the right. Turn right onto "Old U.S. Hwy. 80". =20

Stay on Old US Hwy 80 and you will pass the Arlington Post Office and =
the
Desert Rose Bar and Grill. There is a sign for Agua Caliente road, it =
is a
right turn. On the left side of the highway is an abandoned cotton gin.
This is about 0.7 miles past mile marker 26. =20

Turn right onto Agua Caliente road and zero your odometer at this point.
Turn right again onto a dirt road that is 0.6 miles from the turnoff. =
At
2.8 miles you will pass under a set of power lines. At 5.3 miles there =
is a
cattle guard. At 5.5 miles is a yellow sign to warn you that the road =
turns
right, but don't go that direction. Take a left at the fork in the road =
and
you will be on the "Dirt Boulevard". It is a very wide dirt road, =
actually
two of them, with a median strip in the middle. At 6.2 miles there is a
large desert pavement on the right. There are pieces of cinder block at =
the
entrance and there is a pile of broken block at the site. Make certain =
that
you are facing a small hill to the north to block the lights of the Palo
Verde Power Plant. =20

Lat 33 15.018 N
