Just a wild idea. Since you are now on USB you are probably on 2.0 USB 
which I believe is faster then 1.0 (or is it 1.1). Maybe if you 
installed the software for a 1.1 (or is it 1.0) it might slow it down. A 
crazy idea, but who knows.
