[AZ-Observing] Leonids: Phoenix Report

My efforts to find dark skies were thwarted last night due to car
problems and I got back home in Phoenix (west side - 75th Ave & Indian
School area) around 2 AM. I set up out back in the shade of my two story
observatory. I used a camp chair to lay back and watch. I had a camera
and tripod set up, but the sky was way too bright to try any timed
exposures.
The night was perfect except for the full moon and lights of Phoenix. I
saw on the order of 60 meteors from 2:30 to 4:00 AM. Several were very
bright. What I found interesting was that on two occasions, meteors
seemed to be flying in formation, yet widely separated. One time one came
from the east both north and one south of me. Their timing and magnitudes
seemed exact from entry to disappearance. There was another set like that
later but in a different area.
Certainly no storm, but I was impressed at what I saw from my backyard in
Phoenix with a full moon.
