[AZ-Observing] Weather update

     The afternoon NWS forecast discussions are out, and here are excerpts
relevant to the incoming cirrus.  The Flagstaff office report doesn't
have anything specifc about this weather feature.
     It could be that the timing will be right for northwest Arizona to have
cleared off after midnight.  Perhaps a place like Hualapai Peak south of
Kingman would be reasonably accessible.

EVENING HIGH CLOUDS TO DEAL WITH IN OUR SERN ZONES. THOSE SHOULD BE

305 PM MST SAT NOV 17 2001

...HIGH CLOUD EPISODE WILL 
OCCUR TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY...AS A BAND OF CIRRUS PUSHES EAST ACROSS 
THE STATE. THIS BAND ASSOCD WITH A WEAK LOW THAT IS PUSHING THROUGH 
THE RIDGE IN TWO PARTS...THE STRONGER NORTHERN PART GOING THRU THE 
PAC NW...AND A WEAKER SRN EXTENSION NOW OFF THE SRN BAJA COAST. THIS 
SRN PART WILL PASS BY US TO THE SOUTH OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS OR SO. 
THUS...SKIES TO BE PARTLY CLOUDY TONIGHT WITH CLEARING FROM THE WEST 
SUNDAY.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TUCSON AZ
238 PM MST SAT NOV 17 2001

...A SECOND 
YET WEAKER SHORTWAVE LOCATED NEAR 25N/120W IS MOVING SLOWLY EAST AND 
SHOULD PUSH ACROSS NORTHERN MEXICO. THIS SYSTEM DOES HAVE QUITE A 
BIT OF HIGH CLOUDS STREAMING FROM IT INTO SRN CA/WARM AZ. THESE 
CLOUDS WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH EAST OVERNIGHT...BLANKETING THE CWA BY 
THIS EVENING. THE AREA WILL CONTINUE TO SEE PERIODS OF HIGH CLOUDS 
THROUGH MONDAY.
