[AZ-Observing] The Ultimate Moistion Attractor

My wife has come to a startling conclusion as to why the weekend's
stargazing came to a less than satifiying end...
They dedicated the LBT Friday.
All week was gloriously clear, Thursday was a spectacular night, Friday
and Saturday were almost completely lost to clouds. The participants on
this list have positively established the relationship between new
optics and cloudy weather. We worry about the purchace of a 12"
telescope and the ruined observing nights to follow. With 8.4 METERS
of optical glass it is surprising we aren't bailing out from underneath
10" of rain. I would surmise that the weekends coulds were all that
even this telescope could attract here in the desert during a normally
dry season. It is fortunate they didn't dedicate the scope during
mosoon season.
Star party planners... Please note the date of the second LBT mirror
installation and avoid when planning outings.
