I bet you're correct that the illegal traffic never goes north of I-8.  But
since south is obviously the good direction at Vekol, I think we want to
keep observing to the south of the highway lights.  Perhaps the solution is
to find a good east-west road somewhere along Vekol Road, and getting a
mile or so off the main corridor.  I don't think the illegal aliens or drug
smugglers have any use for side trips on these roads.  Now that it's
getting cooler, I will make a scouting trip for such roads, and hope others
do the same.
