[AZ-Observing] All AZ Star Party

The skies at the All AZ Star Party last night were quite good. The wind,
which was blowing a bit during the day, died down and was not a factor after
the sun went down. The observing field is flat, and there are two
port-a-johns at the site. Once you leave the paved road, the dirt road to
get there was in very good condition. It has been a couple years since I
have been there, and the last time I distinctly remember a washboard dirt
road, but not anymore!
If you go tonight, make sure you bring a warm sleeping bag! The thermometer
inside my car read 48 degrees this morning, and I figure it got down to
around 40. I think my sleeping bag must be rated for about 50!
We were able to see stars of 15.1 mag distinctly in our 10" scopes, which I
was happy with ( we used the diagram in S&T from September, which shows that
stars around M57). Wish I could have stayed today and tonight too, but work
calls...
