Yes, Chris, I saw this same green sky illumination in the north on a night in
1991 just prior to Pinatubo mucking up the Northern Hemisphere's sky for more
than a year. We were at the "Camp 613" site on the Rim, and I noticed faint
horizontal strata in the north.
They photographed on Ektachrome 400 as lime green, but the scan is pretty ugly,
and I don't feel like digging for the slide right now. This was a file that
was lost from the file server at psiaz.com, but turns up on the Wayback Machine
Internet archive. Again, pardon the quality, but you get the idea.

I am wondering if the phenomenon we imaged might be acoustic gravity waves,
shown on this site by Gordon Garradd in Australia.
