Subject: [AZ-Observing] Webcam Image: Mars This Morning
Mars is now a bit larger than 8" in diameter, so it's not too early to begin
looking at it. In poor seeing at 3:30 this morning, I took this image with
the Tuocam webcam through a 10" f/5.5 and 2.5x Barlow. This results in an
image scale of 0.33" per pixel (not enough!). It is a stack of the best 800
out of 1000 video frames taken at 10 fps. After some work in Registax, the
image was scaled up in Photoshop.
Syrtis Major and the Hellas Basin are visible. The polar cap is extremely
small these days, and eluded this image.
