[AZ-Observing] Re: Lunar question....

As Aaron wrote, that's the Harvest moon. While the moon is moving
eastward on the ecliptic, the ecliptic is oriented such that it's also
moving northward. The First Quarter moon was down in Sagittarius, Full
Moon was in Pisces, and Third Quarter will be way up in Gemini.
Another hint to the shallow angle of the ecliptic is Venus' terribly low
altitude for how far it is elongated from the sun. On September mornings,
thouth, the ecliptic is nearly vertical, evidenced by the spectacularly
bright Zodiacal light lately.
