Bill,

I got a similar report via cell phone Saturday afternoon. I was
told that visibility was maybe 50 yards--or was it feet? I would
have made it if it was not raining and looking so bad to the north
Friday afternoon. I was loaded up and on the road . . .

I don't mind rain so much but setting up camp in a
lightning-punctuated deluge is not appealing to me. It's too bad,
I was looking forward to dark skies at 7000+ft. Oh well, maybe
next year . . .

Matt

I went to the Northern AZ Star Party last weekend in the driving rain.
When
I arrived Saturday afternoon there were 45 diehards sitting under a tent
in
the rain. We watched slides, power point presentations and listened to
fascinating talks like a typical club meeting. Needless to say there
was
only lightning to see up above. Later on the rain fell in massive
torrents.
I still had a wonderful time.
