May be old tech, but it works for our purposes. Most of have one so there's
little motivation to change to ham, much to Andrew's chagrin :). Make the
drive home easier. Nothing like some conversation to keep you alert. Lord
know we all need more lerts. (Sorry, had to do it).
You don't need anything fancy. My radio cost $35.00 plus $20 for the
antenna. Get about 4 miles range easily, can barley hear you at 5. Since we
usually bunch up the range is not the biggest selling point.

CB channel 15? I haven't had a CB since the 80's and my Morse code skills
(time, interest, and $$$) precludes any of the K7QCW stuff. BUT, I have this
"Newer" technology of these little Motorola "Personal" radios coming out my
ears! And they even have the newer 5 and 10 milers available for about
$35.00 a pair with charges vs. $99.00 radio shack hand held (nice but still
a "dead" system). Any change of radio gear in the near future??
