Jack has it down just right. This is such an egregiously stupid internet
post, it's amazing to me that anybody would take it seriously. It
started out as a mis-interpretation of an otherwise good posting. But I
suppose it just mirrors the public's lack of knowledge about how
telescopes work and astronomy in general. I agree we have sort of a
responsibility to try to set folks right. I have not had many inquiries
about this (yet!), at least not to the extent that Jack reports.....
Hopefully folks will enjoy themselves at the T-Bird Park star party!!
