[AZ-Observing] Perseids

Hi,

I watched Perseids from Peralta Trailhead in the East Valley last night. From
11:15PM, 8/12, to 1:10AM, 8/13, I saw 34 Perseids and 6 sporadics. The
Perseids I counted were all easy to see, and the vast majority of those we
bright. I saw just about as many little faint wisps that looked like they were
heading in a Perseid direction, but they were just not definite enough to
count. The limiting magnitude was 5. We had about 30% obscuration by clouds
for the first half hour or so, but after that the obscuration was no more than
10%. I looked straight up at one point and noticed a lingering trail from a
Perseid. The trail was glowing quite bright when I first spotted it. We did
not see the actual meteor, but we watched the trail for about 30 seconds. It
was a nice relaxing two hours watching Perseids. When I got back to the house
and was putting the lawn chairs back on the patio I saw one more bright Perseid
to end the evening.

Clear skies,
Mark
