6404? Where'd I get that? My keys stuck. Central stars in NGC 6804 and NGC
6803 are 13.0p and 15.2v resp. according to Strasbourg ESO Cat of GPNs, but
that's prob. gross estimates. (Burnham says 13 and 14 mag resp.) Tonite will
be perfectly still seeing and I can crank up the power...

Jack

Jack--

Both adjacent stars, as well as 6804's central star were visible using a 10"
F/5.5. (I knew I was forgetting to include one important detail in my
notes.) I think 6803's central star was visible, but again, the seeing
conditions were not great and I slid that object onto my revisit list.

Honestly, I didn't even look for NGC 6440, instead I went directly to 6445
from M 23. I observed the pair before monsoon season... actually, there are
a few PN/GC combinations in the summer sky.

Regarding bugs: Yes, there were bugs, but not too many, and I do not
believe I was bitten by any mosquitoes. The site is much more tolerable
than Eagle Eye this time of year.

Transparency is usually excellent at this site but not in August I guess.
You saw the 13 mag central star in 6404 so maybe you saw the 14 mag central
star in 6404, don't know. What equipment were you using? How good is it? :-)
Too bad about the seeing. Also, did you catch 6440 in the field with 6445?
