Right on the money, Sam! It is the stack flex cycle...(a fair bit of flex
for a "ridged" object)

Since the SRBs are bolted to the pad until they ignite, it's not really
lifting them - maybe that's not what you meant.
The shuttle engine ignition rocks them forward; then they spring back.
At that point, the SRBs fire, release, and they are able to rise.
