FreeLists / az-observing / [AZ-Observing] Uranus and Neptune

For all you planet observers, Uranus and Neptune will be very within 
reach of small backyard telescopes in urban areas. Now is you chance 
to get a look at them. I have seen Uranus, but have not found Neptune 
yet (at least to be sure). They will be rising in the East around 10 
PM MST and will be highest in the sky around 2 AM MST.

Had a quick glance at Neptune this evening and the planet looks
quite bright; never thought there'd be a big difference between 7.9
and 7.8 magnitude, however I could clearly see it was brighter than
last month. Looked much more planet-like this time around.
Shot one high gain avi but nothing worth processing.

Neptune will be a wopping 2.4 arc seconds from Aug1-9.

Uranus meanwhile is currently at mag 5.7 and 3.7 arc seconds
