Mike, you have your priorities in the correct order - family, job and
hobby. Like me, where ours were small, there were priorities and at
times I missed a star party or two. Unlike you I didn't have the job
pressures and travel to contend with and is something you need to work
at in order to minimize the time out of town when it's time for telescoping.
Another point on your favor is an understanding wife that encourages you
to get out and observer, which tells me you're doing something correct -
keep it up.
Finally, and you have lots of time for this, when the kids grow up and
leave the house, they will still need your time. Just wait until the
grand kids come along!
No, you're not ranting, just a father wanting to do the correct thing
and balance family, job and hobby.
Hope this, and the other responses that preceded mine, help,
AJ Crayon
