[AZ-Observing] Re: GCSP weather first look

When it comes to GCSP weather, I'm only asking for five things:
Photometric (cloudfree), transparent (no dust, smoke, haze), stable
(good seeing mainly so Mike Spooner can show Saturn at 1500X), warm (it
keeps the crowds out longer), and calm (no wind!). Oh, and a string of
8 nights in a row like this starting with the first Sat. Other than
that, it can do whatever it wants.

One of the better weeks for weather at the GCSP that I recall was after
a huge cold front had blown thru during the Fri night/Sat morning of our
arrival. I set up my tent Sat morning in sleet, but within hours the
sky had cleared completely. The first night was a bit chilly and damp,
but it improved each night afterwards and the transparency remained
good. As I left the park the last Sunday, the clouds were starting to
build up again. Timing is everything.

So when I think of weather at GCSP I secretly hope for a lot of it just
before our arrival, followed by 8 days of building high pressure.

It's still a bit of a stretch but the GCSP time-frame is just
starting to come into the NWS daily forecasts. At the moment,
it looks a though the prospects are favorable:
